End of 2016 Overview Pt.1

Wow! It's been a hot minute since I've written to you guys. Last time was my Reno entry! 

So let me update you on whats happened since then.  :D

Chapter 6 is going to be the biggest Chapter, so I will make that its own.
But MAKE SURE YOU READ IT!!!! It's the best one!!!! :D

Chapter 1 - August  - Pink Hair, Don't Care/ Camping

First of all, I went bold and dyed my hair Hot pink/Fuscia Pink. It literally came out the same color that Gobo Fraggle from Fraggle Rock has (if you remember that show)

Camping - We planned a camping trip in August and went up Spanish Fork Canyon. Originally, we had planned it for my dear friend Chadivus' birthday but no one could make it. So it just ended up being Myself, Travis, my brother Jeff, and our friend Mitch and his wife Julia. 

Previously in the month, Chadivus, Travis and I went to scope out a spot and found an awesome one that was free to camp and had restrooms. That's not super common, but the reason it was free was because there was no "clean water" in that area. Psssh that why you just bring your own water! Duh...

A drive that normally takes 45-60 minutes was turned into a a 2-3 hour adventure due to Chadivus' car not wanting to go on the freeway. It was pretty awesome though! On our way up the canyon we saw free roaming cows and a rattle snake! 

 

The camping trip was very relaxing. (for the most part anyway, I was a little worried about people finding us...) We found a perfect spot in a decent walking distance from the cars and bathrooms. And it was right next to a little river! The water was shallow enough in one spot that we set up our camping chairs, soaked our feet, and read our books. We were both reading Harry Potter and felt like a cute little old couple <3

 

Chapter 3 -  Sept. - Comic Con/ Blink 182

We went to Comic Con! 

So many awesome costumes!

 Unfortunately, There were so many people, it was giving me anxiety :( 

But we got to see Baby!

Blink 182 - Travis and I went with Chadivus and his youngest daughter The Wee Dancer (as he calls her on his blog) to go see Blink 182 at USANA Amphitheater. 

The traffic going out there was sooooo bad, that we pretty much got there right as Blink went on. We stayed in the back and saw them from afar, but it was still pretty epic, even in the pouring rain!!!! 

I think the only thing that we wish was different was of course the original 3 members.

 The new guy is just EHH.

Chapter 4 - October - Luke's Diner / Zoo Life / Halloween

  October started with a bang!

 Luke's Diner - 

 I am a big Gilmore Girls fan.

They previously announced that Netflix was doing a Gilmore Girl Revival. That's awesome in its self. What made it even cooler was that Netflix did a GENIUS marketing campaign where they took coffee shops all around the country and turned them into Lukes Diner for the day. LUKE'S FREAKING DINER! And you bet your ass I was not going to miss that!

The only thing that would have made it better was if  my Loralai (my sister) was with me. She was attempting to go to her "Luke's" in Vegas but had to get to work, so she was not able to experience it. I, being the AWESOME sister that I am, got 2 coffees so that she could still have the specialty coffee cup they made for the day. :D

Zoo Life /Halloween -  

My hours got cut at the zoo in October, so I had to get another job. So of course, I looked at Halloween stores thinking that would be cake. By the time I needed to get that job, all of the Halloween Stores were all hired up. Shit...what was I gunna do?! It was definitely a stressful couple of weeks. All of Halloween City was filled, so I tried Spirit Halloween. They were all filled as well....Luckily I went in to ask 1 more time and the manager informed me that there was one opening late and they needed staff. BAAM! Stress over! That location was sketchy though, but the people I worked with were awesome and it was slow so we could mess around :D

Oh also, the zoo started something new this Halloween, called Boo Lights. Basically, its like our Zoo Lights for Christmas, but better! And it was so busy!!!! Not that I could work it because of my cut of hours for October BUT it was sooo busy, they had to call me in a couple time because they needed help. Success? I think YES!

 

 I also won the Employee Pumpkin Carving Contest with my Snow White Wicked Witch :)

I found a small green squash for my cauldron. Put a green glow stick in there, along with some dry ice for smoke effect! It was perfect! 

We also made the poison apple and I found a creepy hand I was able to attach to make it a 3D effect! 

My prize was a beer stein painted by the elephants and a Hires gift card :D 

Chapter 5 - November - Birthday

Travis and I basically share a birthday. His is November 3rd and mine is November 7th. So this birthday, he got us tickets to go see probably my favorite band ever, Good Charlotte! This band had such influence on both of us growing up, so it was a phenomenal experience! Good Charlotte was one of the bands that broke me away from Britney Spears and N'sync type music and introduced me to my favorite genre, Pop Punk. 

 Also, for my Birthday, Travis set up a photo shoot for us with our awesome friend Taylor! She is amazing and you need to go check her stuff out! She specializes in Portraits, Engagements and Birth stories.
