~ Click With Love ~

Hey Guys and Dolls! How have you been?!

Image may contain: 2 people, people smiling, catLast time I checked in, I was telling you guys how I had gotten a new job (pretty much my dream job) at the Best Friends Kitten Nursery as a Kitten Caregiver! God...can I say how much I am loving it?! It's definitely a lot of work and exhausting, let me tell you, but its so rewarding knowing your making a difference in these kittens life.
I've learned so much and seen so much.

But my favorite thing to do is see those cute kittens everyday and take pictures of them.

I find beauty easily in things I see around me. You can almost always see me take my phone camera out and then immediately start going through and editing the photos I've taken so I can share them. I've always kind of done this, whether its when we are out to eat, in the mountains, at the zoo (where I worked for 8 years) or pretty much anywhere.

Image may contain: plant, flower, nature and outdoorI guess you can say taking photos is my artistic passion. Maybe I secretly got it from my dad? He's an artist and is always taking photos of things.

It wasn't until recently I started getting a lot of positive feed back on photos I've been taking from family, friends and colleagues. My fiance, Travis, and his grandma especially told me I have a real talent and I should try to do something with it.

Sooo....I decided to start my own little photography page for fun.

Travis has an older Olympus camera at home that he will occasionally pull out and play with. He told me to try it out and take some photos, so I have been fiddling with it a little bit. I've always been the type of person that says "My camera on my phone works great. I don't need a legit camera. Why spend the money?"

.......Well....after playing with that, the camera bug bit me and I decided I wanted a camera really really bad! Especially after I took this photo of Dora. It kind of made me really see the difference a real DSLR camera can make. I STILL LOVE MY CAMERA PHONE! Don't get me wrong!
But, I want another option to take amazing photos.

I don't know anything about cameras....literally nothing. The stuff I've done on my phone is just...what I've played around with.

Learning how to use a legit camera....the thought of it just intimidates me. I think that's why I've always just settled for my camera phone and never really looked into anything else or even had a legit thought about learning photography.

Things are going to change though because we actually looked at cameras and I decided on one.

Image result for sad pandaAnd when I set my mind on something...for example....buying a new tv or dying my hair....BAM! Decision made! I get pumped and go right out and do it! If I don't....I am a super bummy sad panda.

We went to Best Buy to look at them, because you can't tell how you are going to like a camera until it's in your hands. I got recommendations from friends and had my mind set on the Canon Rebel T6.

When we went to the store, I was planning on getting that camera and Travis had me look at the Nikon D3400, because another recommendation was the Nikon D3300. I played along and looked at it....but then realized I really really liked it. The body was a lighter model and fit easier in my hands. It also had better specs than the other one...thus making it a little bit more money but in the long run, that's always better. AND it came in red! I've always liked red things like kitchen appliances, cars....and now cameras :)

Yes! I was so excited to come home and play around with it. Travis had it all planned to take me up into the mountains so I could practice. Aaaaaannnnnddd no Best Buys had that model in stock...figures. I was planning on ordering it with them, which would make it so I wouldn't get it for a week. Again...my mind was set on that...and Travis told me to wait and see if we could find anything on Amazon Prime since its 2 day shipping. Again...I played along and looked. Turns out we found one for $20 cheaper and it came in a little bundle with a cleaning cloth, SD card and some other things. SWEET!

What would I do without this guy? For real.

Now I just gotta wait "patiently" till  Wednesday till it gets delivered :)

I literally can't even wait!

Happy 1 Month To Me :)

Hey Guys & Dolls!

So, I have now been working at the Best Friends Kitten Nursery for a month now! Isn't that crazy?!

So far, I am loving it. Let me give you a little update on what its been like:

Day 1

So it was a pretty basic first day. I was given a little tour (which I've seen most of the nursery from volunteering, but of course there were things I hadn't seen before. I felt like the kid that's been accepted into the cool kids club haha.

After that, I worked on getting my Best Friends email set up. Yeah I have my own email! I hadn't received my work laptop yet, (yes, I have my own work computer too!) so luckily they have a a volunteer/intern computer I was able to use until then. My email wasn't working, so I had to call IT and have them figure out why it wasn't working. This was strange because I was the one who had to call them and deal with it. At the zoo, we never had to do stuff on our own. We always just told our supervisors and they were the ones that dealt with stuff.

The rest of the day, I pretty much just shadowed training sessions, because this is something I have to do now. I have found that it seems so much easier to train newbie volunteers because A: Everything is new and they know nothing about it. B: Volunteers that have been there longer know what they are doing for the most part but if they have bad habits that need to be addressed, its hard to tell them otherwise. Some of them pull the, "Well that's new." or "Oh, well they didn't have us do that last year." When in reality nothing has really changed that much. and C: I'm new. I was one of them not to long ago and they don't know me yet. But it will get easier 😊

I also learned how to tell a kittens age.

 1. Teeth - Looking at a cats teeth is a good way to check age if they are clearly not a teeny tiny. The first set of teeth that will come in will be their Incisors (the front teeth) around 2-4 weeks. The next set that will come in will be the Canines (think vampire teeth), which will be around 3-4 weeks. Following that will be the Premolars (4-6 weeks). Premolars also help to tell us if a kitten is ready to be given vaccinations. Once those premolars pop through the skin, BAM! VACCINATION TIME!

2. Weight - You can determine a kittens age by their weight. Their weight roughly corresponds to their age in months. They will rapidly gain weight until they are about 5 months old. For reference, 450 grams = 1 lb. So, you can safely guess that a 1-pound kitten is about 4 weeks old.

3. Eyes - Kittens are born with their eyes and ears closed. Their eyes won't open until about 10 days of age. All kittens are usually born with blue eyes & the pigment will begin to change around 8-12 weeks old. By 4 months, they should be fully developed into adult coloring.

Day 2

I learned about meds and how to give them. I don't come from a medical world or know anything about giving meds. The closest thing I've ever done is when we got our Ball Python, Bella, and had to give her shots for a respiratory infection. This day, I gave a needle injection of fluids for a kitten named Furby for dehydration. (Furby became one of my favorites!)
To tell if a cat is dehydrated, you can gently pinch some skin between their neck and back and see how fast it goes back down. If it immediately goes back down (think of pulling on a rubber band) this will indicate that they are hydrated. If it seems a little stiff and doesn't go back down easily, they are dehydrated.

Their are specific places on a cats to give injections. For kittens, when we are doing Sub Q's (under skin injections) such as fluids, penicillin etc, you do it in the back, pretty much where you check hydration. You gently pinch the loosest part between your index finger and thumb. This is called tenting, which will create a little triangle, which is where you will insert the needle. I have gotten used to this now...except when I had to give fluids to some older kittens who did NOT take to it very well. They made it a 2 man job....

This day also came with a surprise intake!
(Intake is when we receive a kitten from a partnering shelter and do a physical, meds, and create a temporary home for them at the nursery.) This little guy that came to us was what we call a Syndactyl. You probably have heard of a polydactyl (which is more common).

Let me tell you the difference:
A Polydactyl is a cat who has been born with extra toes on 1 or more paw. A Syndactyl would be the opposite. Meaning, their toes are fused together or they are missing toes. When he came in, everyone was freaking out. I guess its so rare, that in the 5 years the nursery has been open, there has only ever been 1 other sydactyl! At first we were going to name him a spock-ly type name....but decided to name him Attenborough, after the famous naturalist, David Attenborough. We though he would appreciate the uniqueness of this cute little guy.
💛💛💛💛💛💛
I enlarged this picture so you could get a good look at his paws 😸

Day 3
(I swear i'm only covering the first few days, not every day! lol)

This day brought my first kitten of the season. By that I mean the first kitten I got to name! At the nursery, the kittens obviously need to be named something. So, we have a handy dandy Kitten Names 2017 list. Each year we try to get a refreshed list of names that have not been used, so there is no confusion with past kittens. Sometimes they have awesome names and sometimes they have the weirdest names.

Anywho, the kiddo I am talking about was a little red tabby who was found at a school. When we did his intake exam, we noticed he had some purple marker or paint on his back leg. It reminded us of an Easter egg. As soon as that was said, I knew EXACTLY what his name should be. I named him Harvey, after one of my favorite black and white movies starring Jimmy Stewart. In the movie, Elwood P. Dowd (Jimmy) has an imaginary friend named Harvey...who happens to be a 6 foot rabbit! Perfect!
Harvey was a very quiet, well behaved little gentleman.  ❤

Fun fact!
When a single kitten is healthy, vaccinated and has been at the nursery for 2 weeks, they can become kennel mates with other kittens! Harvey was Furby's neighbor and after 2 weeks of being there, Furby got a friend! HARVEY! When I put Harvey in there, Furby was curious and bopping him on the head. Harvey was not having it. He put up with it for a minute but then got fed up and there was a constant wrestling match going on for about 2 days. But they ended up loving each other. Just a few days ago, they left to go to a foster home. After foster, they will go to the adoption center to find their furrever home! ❤

Day 6

The night before I was watching ANGEL and I decided I wanted to name some kittens after the 4 core vampires in Buffy/Angel :
Angel, Darla, Spike & Drusilla.

Low and behold, the next day, 2 boys & 2 girls came in and I got my wish!

I am so happy this opportunity has come along. I enjoy it so much and it keeps me so active. I am definitely happy. 😊

As, for learning stuff, I am picking things up pretty fast. My only downfall right now is pulling up the morning meds for everyone. I am a little slow right now but I am getting the hang of it. I think my only struggle really is the dosages, as in how much to give a kitten depending on size and learning to read the different sized syringes. Math has never been my strong suit....but everyday is a learning opportunity and practice make purrfect! 😺

To end this post, I want to make a shout out to the best fiance a girl could ever ask for!
We had decided that for the 1 month celebration we would go to dinner. Nothing fancy, just sushi. As we were getting ready, I was about to put on my make up and he told me to wait on the make up because he had a surprise. "What does make up have to do with anything?" I thought. He led me out into the living room and I found flowers and a card! Que the tears!...WAIT! That's why he told me to hold off on the makeup! GENIUS!!!!!!!
God, does he know me or does he know me?!

On the front of the card, he drew a little kitty and it said "To: My Own Crazy Kitten Lady ❤"

I opened it up to find an adorable Cat-icorn! Awe!
Inside he made little cat puns and told me how proud he was of me. This guy ❤

After I was done crying, we finished getting ready (he even wore his cat shirt), went to dinner at our favorite sushi place, Yi Sushi (50% off rolls!) and then randomly decided to make it a night and went to see the new Beauty and the Beast!
I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate a 1 month job anniversary 😻

And So The Adventure Begins....

Hey Guys and Dolls!

I've got some pretty exciting news! A few weeks ago, I got an email from the Kitten Nursery asking if I would be interested in a Full Time position that would be opening up. Ummmm,YES! Of course I would!

If you remember one of my posts from 2015, Walk with the Animals, Talk with the Animals, I explained how I was trying so hard to figure out a career working with animals that I would enjoy. My whole life I didn't have a clue...that is until one of my former co workers started working at the food bank. We were talking and she mentioned Best Friends Pet Adoption. OF COURSE! I would love to be involved with that! I started volunteering, fell in love with it and here we are, 2 years later,
and I had the opportunity to Save Lives on a daily basis.

We went ahead and set up an interview for the following week. I was so nervous. I knew these people, so why should I be nervous? Because... it was a big change in my life. If I messed this interview up, I would have been devastated.

But the interview went well and I felt pretty awesome about it. CRAP! Now I have to tell my work of 8 years about it and that there was a good possibility....Anxiety flooded me....They were sad, but very very excited for me at the same time.

A week later, I got the call but I missed it. So I had to call them back, but I was a nervous wreck. My co-worker Gina was my motivation against the nerves. I called them back and to my relief, I heard the words, "We would like to offer you this position" VICTORY! I was over the moon! But the idea of leaving the zoo made me pretty sad.

Now I've been at the zoo for 8 years. It was my VERY first job! Without the intention, I pretty much made it my home. I grew to love the environment, and my co workers. They became family. The only thing that honestly made me want to leave so bad was the guests. Working in Guest Services, you see a flood of different people. And you mostly will see the ones who have something to complain about. I've had people rip my face off over the stupidest things. I've had people wreck my emotions to the point of having to go in the back and cry for a minute (I am an emotional person, but come on...) I just didn't want to do it anymore. I didn't feel like I was doing anything positive. Everyday, every guest, I felt I had to prepare myself for a battle.

And now I had the opportunity to do something positive. To save lives of animals! Oh and I got an awesome raise, full benefits, PTO and paid holidays (none of which I was getting at the moment.) What could be better than that!

My last day at the zoo came faster than I expected. All though, I agreed to work Tuesdays until the end of April to help with spring break and get a little extra cash, my last day was technically March 21st. I came into work that day, not really expecting anything because of the working Tuesdays thing.
To my surprise, they made be a breakfast bar (because they know I don't really like cake!)

Make your own waffles, Fruit, Yogurt, Morning drinks. The minute I saw it and realized what it was, I cried. Which isn't hard...but this was a, "Today is going to be a really rough day." I was so amazed and appreciative. I pretty much was just a wreck all day.

They even decided to make Julio the Lion (our office mascot I adopted) into a little zoo worker for me and even put a sound button in him with my voice recording from our office voicemail. He was going home with me to retire. Guuuuuys! Just STOP! It was an amazing last day, and I am so appreciative of everything that's been done for me over the last 8 years there. I appreciate them molding me into who I am today. I really am going to miss the zoo shenanigans and work friends I've made over the last 8 years.

But alas, a new adventure awaits!

The next day was my first day! I was now entering the nursery doors as not a volunteer, but as staff! How exciting is that?!?! The first day I got in and started shadowing re training shifts for returning volunteers. I also learned how to detect when a kitten is ready for vaccinations by looking at their teeth. It was a basic first day of just seeing the daily events.
Day 2 - I learned how to give meds (although there is ALOT to learn still). I learned how to check to see if they are dehydrated by pinching their skin. If they are hydrated, the skin will bounce back like a rubber band. If they are dehydrated, it will kind of stick. So, I was able to give fluids to a little black kitty named Furby because he was a bit dehydrated. Sticking a needle in a little kitten is nerve-racking, let me tell you.

We also got in a Syndactyl kitten. Most commonly you hear Polydactyl meaning they have extra toes. This little guy has his toes fused together instead! So that was pretty exciting! His name is Attenbourough I have a soft spot for Special Needs kitties <3

Day 3 - I learned how to do an intake, which is when we are brought kittens. We need to do a physical on them, give them the appropriate meds, put them in our records and most importantly, make them a temporary home at the nursery! This little guy was my first kitten of the season! He was found at a school and had some purple paint or marker on his backside that reminded us of an Easter Egg. I knew his name right then! Luckily I was able to name him. Meet Harvey! Named after the invisible 6 foot rabbit in the classic movie Harvey, which stars Jimmy Stewart! One of my all time favorite movies!

Day 4 pretty much just consisted of feeding kittens and learning to draw penecillian for some new intakes we had that day. Their mama was hit by a car. I have no idea how they didnt get hit because the officer said they were still trying to nurse when they found them. Lucky Lucky kitties! They were named Huey, Duey, and Louie.!

My first week was pretty awesome and I am so excited for next week!

Galentine's Day....Say Whaat???

 Image result for galentine's day

This weekend, Jessi and I were invited to go to a party. A Galentine's Day party.
And no that's not a typo!

What in the world is a Galentine's Day party? I certainly had no idea. I had never heard of that term before. So I did a little research!
Turns out, Galentine's Day is a  day you take a day to celebrate the lovely lady friends in your life.

I believe the term was created on a tv show called Parks & Rec. I've never seen the show but I've heard its good.

This specific party was hosted by Kara and her friend Ashley. Kara is the awesome girlfriend of one of our oldest friends Rory.

Everyone brought food to share pot luck style, which is the BEST! I myself made a 7 Layer dip, which I always get good compliments on! I decided to be a little festive and make a heart out of  a tomato <3

Jessi made a Apricot Jalapeno Cheese Ball which was awesome!

Kara made crock pot Crazy Chicken, which I found out is just chicken, salsa and honey. OMG so good. We even had some little tortillas to make mini tacos with it.

Mckalle, which is the wife of  our good friend Dahl, brought Mini Weenies. Those things are so good! But by the time we got there alot of them were gone. But we at least got some!
There were also desserts and such as well. It was a pretty good food menu!

Once we were done gabbing and eating in the kitchen we moved to the living room. We went around the circle and introduced ourselves and told everyone something interesting about ourselves. I actually liked that we did that, it felt like everyone was a little more comfortable since most of us didn't know every person there.

After that, they had a craft for us to do! We got to make our own little flower vases! Such a cute idea!

I am the worst at plants, so I cant really have flowers or anything like that on a regular bases, so I was pretty stoked when I saw what we were doing. Now I have a pretty little decoration that wont die!

After that, Jessi took me home and I thought that was the end of my night.....NOT!

Since the girls were having a ladies only party, the guys (Travis, Rory & Dahl) decided to have a Guys Night out at Mckalle and Dahl's house. Rory and Kara live across the street from us, so Travis just car pooled with him.

They had a good fun night of drinking and cards. As I was waiting for him to let me know when he was coming home, I all of a sudden get a call from him at 1130 PM saying that they all wanted Kara and myself to come over and party. Ummmmm ok?! Random? And then they said that McKalle was already picking Kara up at that exact moment and they would be over to get me, so I had to get ready fast....ummmm OK again!?!?!?! RANDOM!

Once we got there we had a great time reminiscing between old friends and hanging out!
It was a very Random but enjoyable night! And I am soo soo glad Travis was able to hang out with some of my oldest friends and get to know them!
Thank you guys for that!

To end this post: Random plans are ALWAYS the best! :)

An Impromtu Adventure :)

This weekend Travis and I were invited to go with Jessi and her husband Dave to go for a hike up to Fifth Water Hot Springs. That sounded super fun, so I looked into it. Turns out, Fifth Water Hot Springs is located in Spanish Fork Canyon...up Diamond Fork....WHICH is where we went camping over the summer (which you might remember from the previous post, 2016 Overview Pt 1). We got pretty excited when we realized that we knew RIGHT where that was at!
Related image
A little about Fifth Water.

It is a 2 1/2 mile hike that leads you to a natural hot spring & waterfall in the middle of the mountains.

Image result for Hot springs fifth snowIf you don't know what a hot spring is, it is basically a natural spring that is created from heated groundwater that comes from the earth that has tons and tons of natural minerals. Many many people soak in these natural "hot tubs" and allow the minerals to soak into their bodies. And they do it all year long, whether its summer time or snowing outside! I knew it was going to be cold, so I looked at reviews to see what to expect. A lot of people that went in January, when we were having legit snow storms, said the hike was great. They did mention that during the winter the gate that will take you to the trail head was closed. With it being closed, that means you have to walk to the parking area & trailhead from the road little ways down. So essentially your hike is doubled because of it.

I called the Park Ranger number and the automatic voice said that the Diamond Fork gate was open. Sweet! We didn't have to walk miles upon miles! So we got our stuff ready and headed out to meet up at their house and then we were on our way!

Spanish Fork is about 45 minutes from where we live, and Jessi and Dave live like 5 minutes from us too. Once we got there, we were surprised to not see as much snow as we expected! Even better! As we drove farther into the canyon, we noticed ALOT of cars parked on the road. What is going on?! And then we saw it.....the gate was closed! And all these people were parked here to go hiking up to the hot springs! Bummer! We had a time frame because they had plans later so we decided to bag the hike since it was going to take so long. What to do now?!

As we were heading back down, we decided to get out of the car and stretch our legs and at least enjoy the scenery for a moment. And we are so glad we didn't go for that hike! There was a wind chill! And with how long we would have had to hike, in the cold mountains, that would have made it worse! But the scenery was at least pretty! Haha. After that short trip outside of the car, we got back in and headed back down. We still wanted to go for a hike or something, but the hot spring idea was what all of us wanted to do most.

So, we made another impromptu decision and we drove to Crystal Hot Springs in Honeyville, Utah....which is up North.... in the opposite direction 2 hours of where we had just driven. But unexpected adventures are always the best! (Thank you so much for driving that much Jessi!, you're amazing!)

So after about 2 hours, we were almost there, and we hit the most potholes in the road that any of us had ever seen! We were all pretty much screaming! It was pretty much comedy!

Finally! We had made it to Crystal Hot Springs! Hallelujah! We were all so ready for some mineral soakin'! The boys had both been when they were little tikes, but neither Jessi nor I had ever been! Dave and Travis kept going on and on about the water slide and that we needed to do it.

Once we got ready, we headed out to the pools. Now, the only hot spring I had ever been too was in fact the one we had just tried up Diamond Fork. So I was expecting pools in natural ground. But to my surprise, it was just like a public pool with 3 pools that looked like hot tubs and then 2 bigger ones. It was a lot smaller than I expected too. So we bounced from pool to pool cause the warmth just wasn't warm enough. It was nice though! In water like that you float, so I was all over the place. haha.

Image result for crystal hot springs slide
Dave REALLY wanted to ride the slide, but Jessi had mentioned she though it cost money. Both guys immediately reacted to that. "WHAT?! SINCE WHEN?!" Dave decided to go check it out. 5 minutes later, he comes back out to us with 4 wrist bands for the slide. HAHA! Turns out they were $3 each for unlimited. (Thanks Dave!!!)

Off to the slide we go! OMG! It was so fun! But those stairs are killer. It's like a flight of 5 or 6 stories and when you are out of shape, they suck! Anyhoo! I haven't been on a water slide since I lived in Las Vegas and would go to Wet N' Wild on the strip. I forgot how fun they are! One thing that sucked is I forgot to take my glasses off, so I had to go down with them on. The pressure when you landed in the pool did not make me feel comfortable wearing them. But I went a few more times :)

As we found the slide, we also found another LARGE pool just past it and it was WAY warmer than the others! Score!

All in all, I think we all had an amazing time! It was so nice to be out and go on a little get away with another couple. Much Much needed!  (Thanks Jessi for letting me use your Snap photos!)

Once we got home, we had it planned to go get some Salmon and healthy stuff for dinner to kind of lightly celebrate VDay because with our work schedules, we wont be able to do anything. But on the way home, Travis brought up La Puente. Now... La Puente is a family owned Mexican restaurant and La Puente and I have a very very loving relationship. It's literally my favorite restaurant besides Charlie Chows. So, whenever it is brought up, any food plans are thrown out the window and its nothing but La Puente. So we got ready and went there. SOOOOO GOOOD! and it was slow! I normally get a Smothered Bean and Cheese Burrito with cheese and onions but I decided to go a little healthier and tried shredded chicken instead of beans....OMG! I found my new favorite. It was delicious. Travis was even jealous of my meal.

So for a very unexpected day, it turned out to be one of the best days we have had in a while! :)

Namaste : Reconnect With All The Aspects of Your Life

A little back story of why I started blogging.

I originally started blogging back in 2015 because of a yoga instructor I found online called Adriene. She did a web series of daily yoga sessions called 30 Days of Yoga with Adriene. I had always had trouble finding yoga videos that I could easily follow. They all seemed so serious and that's just not my flow. But I found Adriene and fell in love. She uses fun references and doesn't make you feel pressured and that's what I needed.

I decided to take a page from the movie Julie & Julia, where she writes a blog for 365 days following every recipe in Julia Child's cookbook, so why not do that for my journey of 30 Days of Yoga?!?!

Flashback to now!
With getting engaged and having to plan a wedding, one of my biggest concerns is making sure I am in better shape for the big day. I want to love how I look in my wedding dress and not regret that I (in my own head) don't look good in my dress.
Image result for fabulous app

I first found an app called Fabulous. This app allows you to make goals and create habits for a better lifestyle whether healthy or just to just connect with yourself. I started out with some goals that sounded good to me. Drinking a glass of water as soon as you wake up, which allows your body to get started and get your organs running good and then I chose to make sure you eat a protein filled breakfast every morning. I am def. one of those people that skip breakfast. So far it is def. helping and I have created these good habits. I even started meditating because of this app.

Do yourself a favor AND INSTALL THE FABULOUS APP!!! :D

I also decided to start being more health contentious. I buy more fruit and try to eat better but I am not making a crazy change. As long as I am being smart about what I am eating majority of the time, I don't think a cheese burger is going to kill me.

Lemon water has become a big daily habit that I am doing as well. It helps with your digestion, metabolism and gives you natrual energy. I don't want to go a day without it!

With all this, I decided I kind of wanted to start doing yoga again. I thought it would be a good thing to start 30 Days of Yoga again and re-read my entries to remind myself of what to expect and of course a little motivation.
So I was looking and realized I never finished writing the entries! Even though I got close to finishing the sessions, I stopped the entries at day 9!
A little more motivation, I could start those back up and finish the 30 Days of Entries.

Last night, I was was going to do Day 3, but I got a text from one of my best girlfriends, Jessi to go to a free yoga class! Hellz yeah!

Jessi and I go way back to like to when MySpace was still popular! I'm sure you remember MySpace haha. We hung out literally everyday. Jessi was actually the person who introduced my to my finance back in 2010. She went to high school with him and she was one of my best friends. She got invited to a show his band was playing and invited me along. And the rest is history. :)

A true friend is the one you can go months without talking to and when you reconnect nothing has changed.:  Like some friendships as you get older, you kind of drift away. Not because anything bad happened but because you become different people or things change in your life. And that happened for me once I met the Travis. My life kind of went in an unexpected different direction but I still considered her one of my best friends. We would hang out every so often and it felt like nothing had changed. And that's when you know its a true friendship. I am lucky enough to say that about not only her but one of my other best friends I've had since high school Alex :)

But as of recently, we have started to hang out a lot more than we have in years and its been amazing! I've missed her smiley face so much and I am so so so glad we reconnected  :)

ANYWHO! :)

So like I said, she invited me to go to a free yoga class with her and her husband Dave because they are trying a healthier lifestyle as well! Perfect right?!

Unfortunately, Travis had to work but he can join us next time!

We went to a place called Local Yoga located in Murray. This was a cute little hole in the wall place. The instructor was actually one of Jessi's friends from work, so that was nice. It was also Dave's first time doing yoga! Luckily he loved it and did pretty good!

It was an awesome class! And very different than being at home watching your screen haha.

After yoga we went back to their place and had healthy chicken tacos. Those tacos were BOMB! Good job Jessi & Dave! And thank you for filling my belly with food goodness! :)

So far this health kick is working and I hope it sticks! :)

If you are interested in looking into an at home yoga, please check out 30 Days of Yoga with Adriene. She also has another one called Revolution: 31 Days of Yoga that I plan on trying as well, and you should too!

                                                  Namaste :)
