Super Bowl - Zoo style!

Utah's Hogle Zoo has a fun tradition they like to do around this time of year. We have our animals pick who is going to win the Super Bowl! How do we do this you ask? Well, our keepers make paper machete helmets for each team, place them in the exhibit of said animal and let em pick which ever one they want! For the past 7 years we have had our male Orangutan Eli pick the winners and for the past 7 years, he has chosen the winner of the super bowl! I bet you're thinking, "HOW? How would an animal know?!" We honestly can't tell you. Either way, 7 out of 7 years he was correct. He became so good news traveled and it became national news! ESPN even kept track of it!  The ape had skill!

Unfortunately in early September of 2014, Eli passed away due to complications from breast cancer during a medical procedure. He was 24 years old. I didn't think that we would be doing it any more but our zoo had become known for having these predictions for the big game.

Today, the king of the jungle pounced in to take over the crown. Our very own male lion, Vulcan!

So....the question comes down to who did he pick, Sea Hawks or Patriots?!

VULCAN'S CHOICE WAS.......

THE PATRIOTS!

What do you think of his choice? Do you think he can be the next big time Super Bowl predictor?!

Let's wait and find out!

Tale As Old As Time - A brief history

Hey everyone, and welcome to my new blog, Diaries of a Crazy Cat Lady! This blog will be based around events in my life and basically anything that makes me...well...me! I have just barely entered this world of blogging so I am still getting used to it, so bare with me! What opened up this world to me was 2 things.

  • 1st, my dear friend Chadivus began his very own blog on here that follow adventures we encounter as a group such as concerts, new restaurants, and bands that he has discovered. If you are interested in checking it out, please do so here! ----> The Life and Times of Chadivus Maximus
  •  2nd, I recently discovered and began 30 Days of Yoga With Adriene on you tube! (I have included the link to her you tube page right here in the text!) This blog will follow my journey for all 30 Days. And what better motivation than a blog! Check it out here! ----> 30 Days of Yoga Challenge

  • Now, why don't we begin with a little history about me?  My name is Jaclyn, but most people call be Bomb. Now you may be asking, "Where did the name Bomb come from?" Well, about 5 years ago, I was invited to go see a local band play at Mo's Bar & Grill. There I was introduced to the band Blinded by Truth and their group of friends. I never knew I would grow so close to this group or family as we call it. I found my significant other (the bass player ;p ) as well as my bff Chadivus (mentioned above!) About a week after the show, my friend Jessi & I were invited to come hang out at their backyard bonfire. Chadivus had just seen Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, in which their band is titled Sex Bob-omb. He decided then and there that that would be my nickname & thankfully it grew to just be Bomb lol. It literally became my name. No one called me Jaclyn anymore unless they had to. Some didn't even know my real name. I also ended up becoming their merch girl! :)

  • Fun facts!

    • I was born in Salt Lake City, but grew up in Las Vegas! And then moved back to S.L.C.

    • I work at a zoo. Yep, not your typical job huh? Unfortunately I am not an animal keeper. I deal with the animals we call humans and sell them tickets & memberships. Lol But I do get some perks working here....
